You can try flashrom from LinuxBIOS on all of these machines. If the
flash chip is detected correctly, there is a good chance you also can
flash a new Dell BIOS version.
Simply install flashrom (instructions at http://linuxbios.org/Flashrom )
and run "flashrom -V". The output will usually give enough information
to add support for flashing your BIOS if it's not supported yet.
