hdr extraction from bios file using wine?

The software repository has compiled versions of everything you need. You don't need xerces to extract, but the repository has xerces. It also has unshield, and will automatically use wine to try to extract, if wine is installed. Just install dell-repo-tools and it should pull in everything else it needs from the repository.

If you do not want to use the tools, some BIOS executables have a -writehdrfile option to get the hdr.

Subject: hdr extraction from bios file using wine?

Michael, I saw your posting about using extract_hdr to get .hdr files
from bios.exe,
but this isn't going to work for me because I am stuck on a corporate
rhel3
which can't support xerces, libstdc++, and other package versions which
the depo
tools require to function (long story).

Is there another way to extract this bios update in wine or windows?

Thanks!

Adam Margulies
