building scsi modules dependant on libata

Is there any way i can build sata_nv, or any of the other scsi modules
that need libata, without having to include a copy of libata-core.c,
libata-scsi.c, etc. in my dkms source? I would imagine that there would
be either a dkms or kbuild command to build libata.o from the $(srctree)
files. The few dkms scsi packages (sata_svw, for example) all include
the needed libata c files in their source tarball.
