Hi,

I tried to deploy openstack with OpenStack-Essex0530-2.iso and encountered the following issue while deploying swift proposal.

Moreover, I tried to use the many possibilities, but still failed to resolve it. How to resolve the issue?

[Symptom] There are the following error messages on swift-storage nodes when try to deploy swift proposal.

---- Begin output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/container.ring.gz . ----

STDOUT:

STDERR: rsync: failed to connect to 192.168.125.12 (192.168.125.12): No route to host (113)

rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.9]

---- End output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/container.ring.gz . ----

---- Begin output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/account.ring.gz . ----

STDOUT:

STDERR: rsync: failed to connect to 192.168.125.12 (192.168.125.12): No route to host (113)

rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.9]

---- End output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/account.ring.gz . ----

---- Begin output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/object.ring.gz . ----

STDOUT:

STDERR: rsync: failed to connect to 192.168.125.12 (192.168.125.12): No route to host (113)

rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.9]

---- End output of rsync swift at 192.168.125.12::ring/object.ring.gz . ----

---- Begin output of start swift-object-replicator ----

STDOUT:

STDERR: start: Job failed to start

---- End output of start swift-object-replicator ----

[My configuration]

I just connect all the 8 PMs to one switch, and use the default network settings in the file bc-template-network.json

[root cause]

The swift-storage nodes, swift-ring-compute and swift-proxy-acct cannot communicate each other.

[workaround]

Manually copying the related files “account.ring.gz, container.ring.gz, object.ring.gz “ to swift-storage nodes from swift-ring-compute node can work around the issue.

Thanks.

YJ
